  1.  @zibbitybibbitybop  It's a war of attrition. Most of the territory changing hands isn't important just like on the Western Front in the First World War. What's important is casualties. When one side runs out of reserves it'll lose the ability to stop large advances. Which side do you think is going to run out of reserves? I'll give you a clue. The Russians are training new air mobile brigades right now.

  5.  @arjaygee  The Americans and the EU supported the 2014 coup which overthrew the democratically elected president and put the country on the path to civil war. More recently, NATO encouraged Ukraine on the path to membership, ignoring Lavrov's explicit warning that it would be a casus belli. Then after the war started, Boris Johnson on behalf of Biden convinced Zelensky to abrogate the negotiated peace a month into the war with promises of overwhelming deliveries of weapons.

  7.  @Jason-gq8fo  Not really you can get a pretty good idea of Russian casualties from Mediazona. The main battle for Avdivka started in October. There was only a small uptick in Russian dead. You'd have to estimate something like 10 injured to each death to get that kind of number.
