  2.  @gentlemanjim480  Roosevelt engineered the war with Germany by ordering the navy to attack German ships fighting the British and Canadians and he engineered the war with Japan by imposing sanctions he expected would put Japan in an impossible situation. Both Japan and Germany had authoritarian regimes but to defeat them the USA allied itself with the Stalin's Soviet Union which was at least as bad. It only became essential for America to defeat Germany and Japan after America had picked a fight with both.

  4. Nothing to do with religion, it's to do with ethnicity. Ethnicity in the early Stalinist period was exceptionally important just as it remains important everywhere else. If you think people aren't motivated by ethnic interests you don't have a clue about history.

  5. Like much of the Communist leadership, this person was Jewish, not ethnically Russian. Stalin himself was Georgian, not Russian, as was Beria. Actually Russians were only lightly represented in the Communist leadership until after Stalin.

  6.  @johnnyredux4019  Yes Churchill's five volume series on the war is full of lies - I've read the first two volumes, he's so dishonest it's a waste of time. Just because Churchill claimed it doesn't mean it's true. Hitler wanted good relations with Britain all the way up until 1939. Even when Hitler realised good relations weren't possible, he wanted to avoid war. Britain, France and the USA baited Germany into attacking Poland - and the Polish misjudged their strength so badly they refused all negotiations with Germany. On Youtube, the Zoomer Historian channel covers this quite well but for the full story, read Schultze Rhonhof's book the War with Many Fathers.
