No it wouldn't, nobody did anything when a Ukrainian missile killed two Polish civilians.
11
@edwardvalivonis23 Nobody believes it was Russian. Even the Americans were embarrassed when Zelensky claimed it was Russian. And the Ukrainians later said if it was ours, it was Russia's fault anyway. Forensic evidence shows it was a S300. They're short range air defence missiles. A Russian S300 couldn't reach Poland, it's much too far. Lots of S300s have gone off course in the war. We've got visual evidence of many including a Russian one in Belgorod.

Russia offered to make up all the grain ... for free.
5
Seems it's about gaining a propaganda victory for Erdogan rather than he seriously expects the EU is going to follow through.
4
@barkobummer Don't you realise NATO entering the war means WWIII and you'll probably die? Unless you have a nuclear fallout shelter with two years of food?
3
@youareliedtobythemedia Dunno they're a huge grain exporter. And I'd guess they;re offering the grain for free at point of collection, not delivered for free.
3
@joeschlotthauer840 And you think Russia can't land a 2Mton nuke on your home town?
3
Do you have a nuclear bunker with two years of food? If so congratulations you'll probably survive WWIII
2
@helenan7368 Russia was also promised NATO wouldn't expand beyond Germany.
2
@michaeldendulk9225 Hard to see what's to gain for Russia by making an offer they don't intend to deliver on. Remember Russia was the world's biggest grain exporter before the war, Ukraine was number five. And not all Ukrainian grain went out of Odessa.
2
@clawzdayz980 That's true but it was said verbally many times including by the Secretary of State. You can see why the Russians felt swindled.
1
@helenan7368 Secretary of State James Baker in February 1990. Not One Inch. Go and educate yourself. Just one of many famous broken promises. You obviously don't have a clue.
1
@horrorfan117 Yes Russia was repeatedly promised verbally. You're right it wasn't in a formal treaty. Fact remains, Russia was lied to. They're pissed off. They don't trust the West especially the USA. And it's not the only time they were lied to. Minsk II was in writing but Ukraine didn't stick to what they signed. All of Merkel, Hollande (guarantors) and Poroshenko (earlier president of Ukraine) admitted it wasn't signed in good faith, it was intended only to buy time for Ukraine to rearm. That's the background to this war. A long history of bad faith and broken promises.
1
@helenan7368 You might be able to justify breaking promises to yourself, to the rest of the world, the USA looks totally untrustworthy. Xi said directly to Biden I can't trust you because you keep lying to me.
1
@ggoddkkiller1342 Russia can easily sink any ships, with mines, torpedoes of missiles in Odessa. Say Russia sinks a British or even an American ship. What then? Do you think national leaders want to start WWIII and see their countries wiped out in a nuclear war because Russia sunk a ship? Nope. So nobody's going to do it.
1
The end for Russia is also the end for NATO. Have you got a nuclear bunker stocked with two years of food? If so congratulations, you'll probably survive.
1
You think Russia is the bully here, the rest of the world outside of the west thinks America is the bully and Russia is standing up to the bully. This escalation rhetoric ends in WWIII and every single NATO country getting wiped out.
1
That;s the same dumb ass logic that said Russia would just let the US stage a coup in Ukraine without responding and later that Russia was bluffing when it insisted Ukraine should not join NATO.
1
Sure. Just like there was no way Russia would react to the Maidan coup by taking Crimea and there was no way Russia would invade Ukraine if Ukraine insisted on joining NATO. People don't get it Putin follows through. He's not bluffing on Ukraine. He's prepared to fight NATO if NATO doesn't back down and fighting NATO will end in nukes.
1
@MrJdsenior Why are you clowns so eager to start WWIII? Don't you realise Russia has more nukes than you and more modern on average too? Go look up how long it takes Russian strategic missiles to hit your home town.
1
Sure. And so Russia mines the Baltic Sea. What you going to do? You think NATO can win WWIII?
1
Russians can just mine the approaches and hit any ship in the port with missiles. Russia doesn't need station warships outside the port like the Royal Navy in the nineteenth century.
1
@merlin7766 Russia was the biggest grain exporter in the world BEFORE the war. Ukraine was number five.
1
Yeah - because another world war is just what the world needs right now.
