40,000+ killed in Gaza because of a few hundred Israelis killed on October 7, a third of whom were killed by their own military and half of whom were military personnel. Think about that before you talk about hypocrisy.

Cool. so how do you explain the Israeli discussions about expelling the population of Gaza and taking over the land? How do you explain the hundreds killed in the West Bank over the past year even though Hamas is not there? And why are you shilling for this foreign country which regards the rest of us with contempt?

@demonshelby1311 Collective punishment against a civilian population for the actions of political leaders is a war crime. Also, you can only argue Hamas "started it" if you start your history in 2023. Obviously there are grievances on both sides going back to 1947.

@demonshelby1311 Yeah anyone who goes back thousands of years to justify genocide in the modern world deserves contempt.

@demonshelby1311 Just because mass killings of civilians and other atrocities happen in war doesn't make it excusable. In the case of Gaza, much of this is quite deliberate. There is a vast amount of footage of unnecessary targeting of civilians and also, there is footage of IDF personnel admitting to committing atrocities. If this scale of atrocities were happening in Ukraine (a much, much larger war), there'd be outrage and the media would be full of it.

@harry130747 What you're claiming is not only irrelevant but also illogical. Do you think the Palestinian people just sprouted from the ground? Obviously their ancestors also existed 4000 years ago. A hundred years ago they were a large majority of the people in modern Israel. Jews were there too but they were a minority. The Palestinians were expelled by terror. Read Israeli historians like Benny Morris and Ilan Pappe.

@demonshelby1311 I agree with you on Ukraine too. The problem is, it's too late. There's no going back now, the war will just have to be fought out.

Long term, Israel can't win. They haven't defeated Hamas in a year now they've taken on the much more powerful Hezbollah. Their treatment of Palestinians has antagonised the entire Muslim world and much of the rest of the world too. Their economy is held up only by American aid and most of the smarter people are leaving. Doesn't look good long term. America is obviously declining as a global hegemon and without US backing Israel is badly outnumbered. Long term too, they'll lose their stranglehold over US politicians.

@demonshelby1311 I totally agree with that. What really object to is the hypocrisy. So much of the Western media the Western political elite (especially in America but in Britain too) is giving Israel a free pass for the kind of behaviour nobody else would get away with. Personally I'm politically to the right and I find it outrageous commentators I agree with on most issues spout such ignorant (or disingenuous) nonsense about what's happening in the West Bank and Gaza which is objectively worse than anything Serbia did in Kosovo or Russia did in Donbas or even anything the old regime in South Africa did.

@rewdwarf123 Impossible to know exact numbers but from the identities of those known to be killed, almost half of the Gazans killed are female. Almost half are children. Does that sound like accidental collateral damage to you? The Israelis themselves admit they'll destroy an entire apartment block full of people if they expect they're going to kill an enemy commander. We know for a fact they have targeted areas where refugees were ordered to move to. The IDF just doesn't care because they know Western media and Western politicians will make excuses for them no matter what happens.
