Easy but they have no shortage of Russian engineers despite what Peter claims. Despite the smaller population Russia trains more engineers than the USA. The urgent shortage in Russia is of gender theory graduates.

@ChucksSEADnDEAD A lot of Siberia has a really low population density, they rely more on railways than roads. It's not like US infrastructure is perfect either. If their weapons keep failing like you claim, they'd have lost the war by now. It's Ukrainians who are getting the shit kicked out of them

@robderich8533 After the Soviet collapse, Russia bounced back after Putin. Ukraine just stagnated. It has suffered massive brain drain, worse than Russia. The population now could be half of what it was at the end of the Soviet Union and it's a very old population. Yes Russia has these problems too but Ukraine suffers far worse.

@ChucksSEADnDEAD While that's true if you've got really massive amounts of heat, a typical bomb doesn't produce enough heat sustained for long enough. There's a huge pressure which spreads the gas from the explosion over a wide area. You're going to need a truly massive conventional bomb to heat through 2cm of concrete and get rebar hot enough to damage it. A tanker fire .. now that could do it. An intense, sustained fire. But that's going to damage a tunnel structurally, it's not going to collapse a tunnel.
