Not just that Russian armaments production is right up, Russian casualties are lower and this year, Russia has taken more ground than Ukraine has. Even more, there's severe infighting in the Ukrainian leadership now, close to an open war between Zelensky and Zaluzhny.

LOL it's undiluted propaganda. For example claiming Mariupol can only be supplied by road - er no there's a railway there now and onwards up to the front. And he didn't mention Avdivka which is likely to fall in the next couple of months, that's pretty huge.

It's a propaganda channel. There are way better neutral channels.

@RL.777 They actually had a peace treaty hammered out, a visit from Boris Johnson promising who knows what convinced Zelensky to tear it up.
4
He also said there's no rail connection to Mariupol which is obviously BS

Never. Ukraine has served its purpose, to cost the Russians live and equipment regardless of the cost to Ukraine itself. And make tens of billions for the US armaments industry.

@meiko_kaji Here are some good ones History Legends - smart arse executive summaries of particular aspects from time to time Military Summary - factually excellent well sourced in detail analysis, generally twice per day. Feel free to ignore the speculations. Slight pro-Russian bias. Weeb Union - also thoughtful analysis, slight pro-Russian bias. Theti Mapping - irregular detailed updates and good analysis, totally neutral. Defense Politics Asia - regular, detailed updates and analysis In the English speaking Internet, the large majority of channels are strongly pro-Ukrainian most to the point where they're outright propaganda. The above ones are at minimum honest.

Because his whole coverage on Ukraine is propaganda.

danjohnston9037 In the Black Sea? Nobody now. It's a land war. The Black Sea doesn't matter all that much.
1
danjohnston9037 That's sort of true but Russia is destroying the Ukrainian economy while the Russian economy grows. Driving the Black Sea fleet out of the Western Black Sea is a consolation prize for Ukraine at best.

@YoniLiron Where's the evidence that Russia is sending "human waves" anywhere? The Chinese army did massed infantry assaults against intact defensive positions in Korea 1950. But where have the Russians (or Ukrainians) done that anywhere in this war? I've been following this war closely from the start watching videos from both sides. It just doesn't happen. It's just a propaganda phrase. Avdivka is likely to fall in the next couple of months which prevents Ukraine from shelling Donetsk City. If the Russians can achieve that, it's a huge win for them and Peter Zeihan will never admit it.

@tim211292 Check out Military Summary Channel, Defense Politics Asia, Theti Mapping, Weeb Union. For economics numbers well you can google that pretty easily.

@robt7773 Nice theory but democracy is in retreat everywhere. Perhaps there's still real democracy in Switzerland but most of the West is giving up on democracy now. Ukraine's certainly no longer even pretending to be a democracy. Israel's an apartheid style sham democracy. The USA is becoming as fascist as Russia. Canada has resorted to blatant authoritarian coercion to suppress dissent. Freedom of speech has long since disappeared in Western Europe. It's all theatre. The war is 100% about geopolitics, not about ideology.

@theliato3809 Russia's stated objectives are to keep Ukraine out of NATO, to eliminate the national socialists and to demilitarise Ukraine. You can't really deny it's making progress on them. At some point and it might not be soon, Ukraine collapses exhausted. Long before that, everyone with a brain has left the country. The elite of the army is already dead for the most part. They're trying to get women as old as 60 to enlist now. Meanwhile the Russian economy is still growing, its military production is expanding and it's fighting the war with volunteers.

Avdivka is less defensible than Bakhmut. Bakhmut had a better geography for keeping the supply lines open. Avdivka is likely to call in the next two months. Some Ukrainian soldiers put out a video complaining officers have already been withdrawn.
1
@Targetlocked. Fitting though because Peter Zeihan copy and pastes the same discredited propaganda over and over in each video about Ukraine.
1
For clues look at the collapse of Russia and then Germany in 1918. Ukraine can hold out for longer but the clock is ticking. Something will give eventually.

@giuseppeanoardi3973 LOL do you have any reason whatsoever to believe the Russian regime is about to fall? The infighting I see is between Zelensky and Zaluzhny.
1
@giuseppeanoardi3973 Eliminating the loose cannon Prigozhin actually makes Putin's regime more secure. The few disloyal people who sided with him identified themselves and can no longer be a threat. Surovikhin who was a bit too close to Prigozhin has been sent to Africa apparently. As for the weaker rouble, this is helpful more than anything. Russian energy exports are priced in foreign currencies whereas armaments and other government costs are paid for in roubles. Obviously if inflation got out of control that would be a problem but it hasn't happened so far. Russians are complaining about inflation and higher costs but are they complaining more than the Europeans or Americans? Not so far.
1
Why would you believe the Russians "are basically down to throwing raw recruits into the fray"? Jeez you really need to check out some neutral sources if you believe that.
