@VisibilityFoggy Shortly before this invasion started, Zelensky was talking about joining NATO and acquiring nuclear weapons (in Munich October 2021). Kamala Harris was at the same conference and raised no objections. Putin drew the logical conclusions.

@MaraWantuch If the war continues for another few months, the Ukrainians will break. It's obvious they're finding it harder ever week to paper over the cracks if you watch neutral channels like Military Summary, Weeb Union, DPA, Daniel Davis etc. That's not to say the war won't be settled by negotiations but only if the Russians choose to do it. Nothing short of nuclear war is actually able to stop the Russians from taking what they want at this point. Which might be why people in the Pentagon might be trying to provoke a nuclear war.

@jesan733 Over the preceding months, Ukraine stepped up shelling of Donetsk City, read Jacques Baud. Although it's true Russian forces built up for weeks before the invasion it's also obvious the actual invasion was last minute and improvised. Chaotic even. Most likely the build up was intended as a bluff to make Ukraine back down and then the order to go in was given only a couple of days before.

@jesan733 Jacques Baud is a Swiss intelligence officer - hardly a Russian propagandist. In any case his books are well references. If you want to argue with any particular point go for it but dismissing facts you don't like as Russian propaganda is lame crap for midwits. Nobody other than you claims the Russian invasion was well prepared, neither on the Ukrainian side nor the Russian side. The Russian soldiers who were involved say the lack of planning and organisation were appalling.

@jesan733 If you don't like Jacques Baud because somehow a Swiss intelligence officer is actually a Russian spy or something how about Scott Ritter ex US marine colonel/weapons inspector, Douglas McGregor and Daniel Davis US colonels famous from Desert Storm, interesting that it's the colonels who write books on tactics who are better informed than the political but out of touch senior generals like Hodges and Jack Keene
