@scldistancer4ever868 It's easy to understand. The Russian military is pretty good, the exact opposite of how clowns like Zeihan portray them (he actually claimed in a war with NATO, casualties would be a thousand to one). Doesn't mean you want them to win to acknowledge that. As for Zelensky, the guy is a slimeball. Elected on a peace platform, he was threatened by the nationalists so did a 180 reversal and escalated. He tells blatant lies. He signed an agreement with Russia a month into the war which would have ended the war on good terms but then tore it up. If you're a Ukrainian patriot, the guy has been a disaster, he's destroying the country.

@johnathanhughes4367 Do you seriously believe this>? How is it Ukraine hasn't pushed Russia out of Crimea yet if casualties are so one sided? Both sides agree Russia has a huge dominance in artillery, armour, aircraft and ammunition but you still believe Ukrainian casualties are higher than Russian? Answer me this, when was the last Russian mobilisation of men to fight in Ukraine?

@Tree.fiddy. There's a clue in "all the territory he wants". Putin is basically telling Ukraine to surrender. That's not a sign of weakness. As for glacial progress.. there's a better reason. Russia's in no hurry. Economy is growing, war support is high, casualties are sustainable and down on last year according to Mediazona, Ukraine is gradually weakening, most of energy production is destroyed now. Why would Russia risk an escalation by panicking the NATO with something dramatic?

@GeekDad74x You're telling me what the media narrative is, not what's actually happening in Ukraine. You don't need to take my word for it. Check out what the guys who won Desert Storm say about it - Dan Davis and Scot McGregor. Even better Swiss intel officer Jacques Baud and Austrian Col. Reisner. These aren't "Russian bots", they're retired senior Western officers, the guys who write books, not the politicians officers who become generals like that embarrassment Ben Hodges. Actually Reisner is still serving. There is such a thing as Russian disinformation of course and it's interesting to know what they want their population to think but quite seriously, there's nothing they say as ridiculous as the stuff Zeihan comes up with.

It's like saying how is Russia able to hit Ukraine with literally thousands of missiles when Western air defence is so advanced? The answer is because no air defence can protect everywhere in a major war.

@Brit_Toolmaker Selection bias. If you watched Russian channels you'd be seeing failed Ukrainian assaults and Russian lancets and FABs smashing Ukrainian positions. Both sides take casualties in a war but Russia is gaining ground, not the other way around. Both sides agree Russia has the advantage in armour, air, artillery and ammunition. Yet you believe Russian casualties are higher - not just higher but twenty times higher. Frankly, you're being manipulated.

@urbanarmory That's now how the rest of the world sees it. The war on Serbia and the war on Iraq for example were started on blatant lies. US soldiers are still in Syria even though the Syrian government doesn't want them there and the UN states this is breaking international law. When Kosovo was taken from Serbia at the end of the 1999 war, Yeltsin warned this was creating a dangerous precedent, in 2023, Putin used exactly the same justification to take the four oblasts from Ukraine.
