@dr.j5642 Compare to say coverage by the Duran channel - they're biased in the other direction but at least give sources. Or compare with Col. Dan Davies, more neutral and also gives sources. Peter Zeihan is not an expert on most of the stuff he talks about, on the things I really know a lot about it's very clear he is not only ignorant but tells outright lies too.

@dr.j5642 His entire narrative on the Ukraine was is blatantly dishonest. He keeps saying stuff like the Russians are taking horrendous casualties - zero evidence. That they're making "human wave" attacks - they definitely don't. See History Legends channel if you want a quick debunk. That they're deliberately trying to genocide the Ukrainian population. Yet civilian deaths in the much smaller and shorter war in Gaza far outweigh Ukrainian civilian deaths. That Russian air defence is useless - doesn't match the open source evidence. Earlier, he strongly implied the Russians blew up Nordstream and anyone who thought otherwise is a conspiracy theorist. Now, the official story is the Ukrainians did it although Seymour Hersh's version is far more plausible. Do you see why anyone closely following the war knows he's full of s***?

@dr.j5642 I'll give another big narrative he keeps pushing which makes zero sense. That the Russians need to control seven choke points to guarantee their security, even at the cost of war with NATO. Russia is the world's biggest nuclear power, that's what guarantees the security of Kaliningrad, now the Suwalki Gap. It's a bit like arguing the USA needs a land corridor to Alaska to guarantee its security. Not only this but it's prepared to fight a world war to do it. Earlier on he claimed in a NATO-Russian war the casualites would be a thousand to one - that's literally insane. The Russian army is the most powerful in the world now. Its overall military is less powerful than NATO but even with no nuclear weapons it'd be far from one sided.

@dr.j5642 The only prediction he got right on Ukraine is that the Russians would invade but everyone paying attention knew that was going to happen once Zelensky started talking about joiing NATO and acquriing nuclear weapons in October 2021 in Germany with Kamala Harris there with him and Harris allowing this to go unchallenged.

@tonywilson4713 On other stuff I know a bit about, machine learning and the Ukraine war, I can also confidently say, Zeihan is not only ignorant but outright dishonest. He's told many blatant lies about Russia in particular. One giveaway that he's full of S***, he badly mispronounces well known names in French, German and Russian in ways which would be unlikely if had the familiarity with the topics he's discussing, even without actually learning those languages properly.
