@Cullaica So what? It wasn't hard. There was a large Russian army massing on the border. Zelensky had been elected on a peace platform but instead stepped up attacks on Donetsk. Lots of people predicted it would result in a war including Zelensky's best buddy Arestovych - he thought it would result in a Russian collapse and great Ukrainian annexations of Russian territory.

It also ignores anything the Russians actually say or do. It ignores that Russia was quite willing to negotiate a peace with Ukraine without involving any transfer of territory a month into the war when Kyiv was in danger of being cut off from the rest of the country. It;'s just one of Zeihan's unfounded assertions he keeps repeating without evidence to brainwash us into accepting it as a fact.
