That's not really what's going on. Armenia was trying to get closer links to the USA and NATO. The Russians could easily put pressure on Azerbaijan, both economically or if necessary, militarily but why would they want to antagonise a neighbour on behalf of a less powerful country which is trying to defect to NATO?

Yes, you won't see it in the Western media but there are literally hundreds of videos of the Ukrainian police rounding up men who don't want to fight including guys over 60 and 16 or younger. The Russians are advancing in multiple points across the front and have taken some high ground overlooking the supply roads to Avdivka.

They don't, it's Zeihan's explanation to distract from the real reason for the Ukraine war - relentless NATO expansion eastwards despite promises made to Russia at the time of German reunification that this would not happen. You'll notice that although he keeps repeating this claim over and over in any video where he mentions Russia, he has never provided a single shred of evidence.

@Gargoiling Maybe I'm biased, I speak French, German and Russian but to me, if someone is telling the audience about Russian politics and can't even pronounce the names of the most famous personalities - or even large cities like Voronezh then you know automatically he has no credibility. I was impressed the first few hours of Peter Zeihan content I saw but when he started talking about stuff I actually knew something about I realised he's simply a neocon conman. Out of curiosity I looked into his track record and it's not great.

His inability to pronounce the names of even famous Russian, German and French people is a useful clue that he doesn't know anywhere near as much as he pretends about the things he talks about.
