  1. Russian nukes are more modern than US nukes on average. Why would they not work? Haven't you noticed their non nuclear missiles tend to work pretty effectively?

Actually, about most things but Russia especially. As for fission technology, it's pretty simple to get right. 80 year old tech. Even North Korea can do it. If you think Russia, a country that trains more engineers and scientists than the USA can't manage what North Korea can then you need to try thinking.
