  1. The court ruled that the universities were engaging in racial discrimination and using their affirmative action regulations to do that. Folks may not like i,t but the ruling, based on the equal protections clauses, was the right one. You do not fix discrimination by discriminating. And race can still be used in admissions. Not the disaster some see.
