Okay, some perspective. These guys probably lived through the Great Depression and fought in WW2 and/or Korea. Most of them are dead now. Most of the cities and towns they lived and died in are themselves dead or dying. The good news is that those dull, boring jobs that provided them with a standard of living far better than that of their parents have been shipped offshore. Their kids are now retiring after having survived the last 50+ years of working. Their kids are living in the basement, sponging off their parents, waiting for them to die so that they can inherit the house. Work is so 20th century. It interferes with beer drinking and drug use. The idea of a "work ethic" is actually offensive to many people. They actually gloat about shutting down a factory, mine, or power station.
