@Mr-Clark I used to see it all the time. If you're doing 100+ in the hammer lane and you see headlights gaining on you (it's a European thing) you need to get out of the way. That is, unlike you're a fan of Talladega-worthy crashes.

 @drsus0 Don't drive on the Pennsylvania Turnpike then. Speed limit is 70, people routinely drive 90-100 in the hammer lane.

 @karlk9316 That was a great idea 60 years ago. Driving quickly deteriorated from a privilege to a "right", a right that morphed into the lowest skill level possible.

 @karlk9316 True, but speed limits are higher now than they were in 1973, with a few exceptions. Ohio's limit then was 70, Pennsylvania was 65.

@FHB71 That doesn't work here in the States because the rightmost lane often features truck ruts and ripples.

@aarohivijh I've heard the truckers say, over the CB radio, that they speed up when they encounter snow and rain so they can get through it faster. They also are too busy on their phones to call out wrecks which leads to the 100+ vehicle fatal crashes that are so common anymore. When I was in field service I encountered this at least once a year, the last time was in 2005 when a snow streamer crossing I-79 near Edinboro made things way too exciting for me and took four lives in a pile up on I-80. I was the only one squawking it out on the CB.
