@Barrymore1776 By your logic, if a murderer agrees to show the police where the body is buried he should escape prosecution?
16
@Dr.Thirteen-bb1ub Immunity only applies to actions taken while president, not before, and not after. It's important to understand the difference.

What kind of car? Smart car? Yugo? Pinto? Gremlin?

If Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith show up, don't take the Ray-Bans off!

Pirates!

There hasn't been a mass casualty event today, 4-20, so until there is they are stuck with this.

Many of us "right wingers" believe in the archaic concept of "law and order ", and of obeying the Constitution. Left wingers, or "liberals", believe that the constitution is outmoded and the end justifies the means. Skeptics and cynics are between the two. We expect the worst and aren't often disappointed but are occasionally pleasantly surprised when the established processes are followed.

@atlnam Like a Tom Brady football!

"To Serve Man".

Pop David Isn't the United Nations recommending lowering the age of consent?
2
Not about Trump, his taxes were "leaked" years ago.

My money is on nobody, and I don't mean Bob Odenkirk's character.
1
@larrysmac Not "deflecting" anything, just telling it like it is, Cosmo.
1
@hm3drake35 There isn't enough bandwidth, and besides, people like you just blow it off anyway so why waste time?
1
@ow3wells Giving one party a pass while persecuting the opposition is a "banana republic" hallmark.
1
Tell me, what exactly it was that "offended" you. They didn't break in. They didn't fight with the cops. They didn't break anything. They didn't steal anything.
1
@hm3drake35 Funny, I've read multiple accounts and never once read any of these things being associated with these guys
1
@hm3drake35 Yawn.
1
Any information on whoever left the two pipe bombs near the Capitol? How about the big guy who helped the Pink Hat Lady?
1
For walking in, wandering around and taking pictures? That's a pretty low bar. By your logic if I had gone in to use the restroom and get a drink I should face the firing squad?
1
@hm3drake35 I wouldn't get any closer to DC than Hagerstown, thank you very much. I wanted to go to Arlington but didn't want to be accused of being an "insurrectionist".
1
@richradley2706 Like I asked, who exactly is "the enemy"? Your neighbors? The octogenarian with the Trump bumper sticker and flag?
1
@richradley2706 Sorry that you feel that way. I guess that you must really miss the Soviet Union. Your philosophy of "malice towards all, and mercy to none" stands in stark contrast to that afforded to men who fought against the Union for four years.
1
It's easy to "unite the country" after the opposition has been "neutralized". It worked for Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin, so why not?
1
r.f.hopkins8163 I completely agree with you.
1
@dertythegrower They don't care, with 51 votes in the Senate the Dems can protect their plants.
1
Taxes put Al Capone on Alcatraz.
1
@nicripolas816 The one about "just give the nukes back to Moscow and we'll protect you"?
1
Wait until they recover it and discover hieroglyphics writing that linguistics experts translate to "We are your friends. We come in peace."
1
So... what was it that they actually *did*? They followed the crowd...they took some pictures...they, like everyone else there, were part of history. Did they take anything besides pictures? No? Did they break anything? No? Did they assault the cops? No? Sounds pretty boring to me. Are they guilty of making a poor (not necessarily a bad) decision, that of entering the building? Depends. If they were stuck in the crowd and couldn't get out, then no. Now, the most important part: Did anything they did conflict with the oath they swore when they enlisted? That remains to be determined.
1
@richradley2706 Who is the "enemy"? Your neighbors?
1
@richradley2706 The bar on "treason" has been set by Bradley Manning and Gen. Mark Milley. Manning gave classified documents to WikiLeaks. Milley stated that he would have rung up his Chinese counterpart in the event Trump ordered a nuclear strike. Can you imagine an American general ringing up his Japanese counterpart before we dropped the bomb on Hiroshima? Harry Truman would have executed the traitor himself!
1
@marthell6159 From everything I've read, the "government proceeding" was "disrupted" long before they entered the building. It's a very thin line between "patriot" and "traitor", sometimes the thickness of one classified document.
1
@ericf9531 IIRC, the process had been interrupted long before they showed up. Try again. The role of a judge, any judge, is to be a skeptic and not a rubber stamp for the prosecutor.
1
@JAY-624 The British considered them traitors and insurrectionist. Sound familiar?
1
@hm3drake35 One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. It's a matter of perspective.
1
@hm3drake35 They think that they are fighting for our freedom, and for American freedom.
1
@hm3drake35 History likes to repeat itself. The British put a price on the head of every man whose signature graced the Declaration of Independence. I find it interesting that a bunch of tourists are being treated far worse than men who actually took up arms against the government.
1
@hm3drake35 How are your temporal mechanics skills? I'm going to give you an assignment, that being, would the capitol riot have taken place if the supreme court had heard and ruled on the Texas case? Do states governors and attorneys general have the right to violate their states' election laws and Article 1, Section 4 of the Constitution? For extra credit, please read Abraham Lincoln's first inaugural address and carefully note what he said about the people having the right to overthrow the government. Interesting reading, Honest Abe was.
1
@hm3drake35 The only case I care about is the Texas case. Read Article 1 Section 4... the word "unless" doesn't appear. Today, the question remains unanswered.
1
@hm3drake35 Spoiler alert: it's my belief that had the supreme court ruled on Texas, either way, the riot wouldn't have happened.
1
@hm3drake35 You keep straying off topic. I couldn't care less about what Trump did or didn't do. My concern is that the established procedure and law was violated.
1
@than0s948 They actually did. Read about the Whiskey Rebellion.
1
Pittsburgh is no different. When manufacturing left we were told that "eds and meds" were the future. Today the city teeters on the edge of bankruptcy and the bridges are collapsing.
1
@Bitchslapper316 So is Reality Winner and Bradley Manning but they're out walking free...
1
@Bitchslapper316 Harry Truman would have shot Both of them himself!
