@randalcquebedeaux314 He won't go to Washington, he'll stay in Braddock and his wife will vote for him.

@Fred Freddy You mean a self-made millionaire versus a trust fund baby whose parents supported him until age 49 and has never had a real job? I live near Braddock and it's no different than it was when he was mayor. Oh wait...Superior Motors closed years ago, so... Let's face facts...as Dr. Jill says, sometimes you gotta hold your nose and vote.

No.

It's customary to "single ping" as a response to underwater search and rescues. This tells whoever is banging on the hull that they have been heard and are being searched for. Three bangs within five seconds, ten seconds of silence, then repeat.

One of the easiest ways to lose friends is to tell them what they should be spending their money on. My father did that to me and we didn't speak for 10 years.

There's still food in the snack machines...

Nobody cares.

Still waiting on the Kennedy files, the Roswell and Kecksburg reports.

Everyone knows that Earth is the trailer trash of the galaxy!

@Max c Nothing was ever accomplished by people who risked nothing.

@harrietharlow9929 and the Scorpion.

@teru797 Not really. I had bought a used motorcycle to ride to work and my father didn't like it. I was 30, married with kids, and had been on my own for years.

Have they dynamited the Chunnel yet?

People don't believe that we went to the moon; why would they believe this?

@commiesnzombies Phones?

NASA tried that once, and Apollo 1 was the result.

Expect a new Trump indictment and another state to throw him off the ballot to change the focus.

"Momentarily..." Cue Spongebob... Eight hours later...

So the question is...do these folks get to join the Titanic victims inside, like at the end of the movie, or do they have to stand outside and watch?

It's all Trump's fault, like everything else.

@teru797 There is a huge difference between merely offering advice and trying to control someone. In this case he crossed that line and was unwilling to accept the fact that I was an adult and not a child. Yes, we don't know how long we have. I learned from the experience and will not repeat it with my sons. I assume that you are familiar with "In The Living Years" by Mike + the Mechanics. My father and I mended fences two years before he died.

@DavidNotSolomon Warren Zevon had a song titled "Life'll Kill Ya". I don't know how old you are but what I can tell you is that as the years pass your risk tolerance, along with how you view life, death, and the relationship between the two, will change. Typically, as you get older, you become increasingly more risk-averse. But you learn a fundamental truth: no one gets out of life alive. When it's your time, nothing will change it. But until then, enjoy what life has to offer.

@Jeanninecomeau During our argument, I asked my father if he saw me as an adult or as a child. He said that he saw me as his son, a non-answer to my ears. It took me years to understand his words. He was saying that a father has a duty to protect his children no matter what. But there's a point beyond which you cannot protect your kids, unless you want to prevent them from having their own life at all. My kids are beyond old enough to make their own choices in this life. It's up to me to respect those choices.

@DavidNotSolomon I had a car. They were forcing me to drive my personal car after cancelling the order for a company truck.

@DavidNotSolomon You can't protect your kids from everything in this world. I learned that lesson when my sons played sports, especially football. When he put his uniform on he was his own man and I couldn't interfere, even though I enjoyed him playing violin in the school orchestra. My father had no issues with my getting maimed or killed in an industrial accident, strangely enough, but he felt strongly enough against me saving money by riding a motorcycle to initiate the argument and to stick to his guns despite the estrangement. He died in 1997. I made it to retirement with both eyes and ears, and all of my toes and fingers intact. I still ride motorcycles. Neither of my sons do. The people on the submarine, as the saying goes, paid their money and took their chances. The Space Shuttle was no different. Twice in 135 missions they didn't come home.

If we knew the whole truth it would completely rewrite our history, mythology, anthropology, and religions.

@BubbleoniaRising It's not the cable news, it's the legacy media outlets.

Strange days indeed...

So... nobody has ever seen the beginning of "Jaws"?

@depj1000 Instead of being crushed by the weight of the water you die by asphyxiation? The sub death is over in milliseconds.

Seen on a bumper sticker in Rapid City: "Ask a Native American about open borders!"

@joep6035 Joe, they don't. I've stopped counting the voters interviewed on TV who won't vote anything other than Democrat no matter what. The bias is truly ignorant. Here's one example: Voters in one Pennsylvania district voted for a dead candidate rather than vote for a Green Party candidate. One commenter in the local paper stated that "it was better to vote for a dead man and not a Republican". Only problem is that no Republican ran for the seat.

I attended the final public hearing of the Columbia Accident Investigation Board in June 2003. To say that it was a fascinating experience would be a great disservice. It was a day that I'll never forget.
