  1. One summer, before we got air conditioning, I was taking a shower and cooling off when I heard meowing. It was my buddy Jonesy. I moved the shower curtain and he jumped in. He purred so loud when I dried him off. He also liked to swim in the pool.

  4. I currently have four feral cats living under my pool apron. One female, two kittens from spring, one from a few months ago. I've been putting out food for them but they just run away.

  5. Unfortunately, foxes, like raccoons and skunks, fall into the category of animals that if you see them in the daytime you have to assume that they're rabid.

  6. Just a heads-up: many states prohibit the keeping of skunks, raccoons, etc., as domestic pets. Pennsylvania is one of them. A few years ago a family that had a domestic pet raccoon moved here and the authorities confiscated the animal and murdered it.

  7. My Gary has been reincarnated! Anyone who says that black cats are bad luck has never had one. Gary was a greenhouse cat who adopted us in 2000. We had him for 15 years before he went home. I still have him listed as "overdue".
