  2. Here's how it's going: these plants supply power into the PJM Interconnect. Every May PJM holds a capacity auction in which bidders vie for the power a given station is capable of generating. If a station doesn't get "picked up" the owner can do two things: operate in real time or close. Even though recent developments have made coal economically viable the government's desire to deindustrialize America has resulted in coal and nuclear plants being shuttered. Dominion is the only power provider being run by adults. They removed all of their plants from PJM's game because they know that renewable power isn't up to the challenge and PJM can only cheat so much by buying power from SERC and MISO. Speaking for myself, I'd love to see every fossil and nuke plant shut down and give the Greenies their wish. August 1 would be a great time.

  3. Do yourself a favor and look at PJM's site. They have a pie chart that shows what fuel source is generating how much power. Then ask yourself if we can have civilization on 10% of the power demand.

  4. If you take a picture with a camera, the moon will appear the same size at the horizon as it does everywhere else. Scientists are unable to explain why our eyes see the moon as being larger on the horizon.
