Not everyone gets benefits for rent .I’m a single deaf women and work and just over threshold here Ireland and don’t get benefits for rent .I work full time and have pay for rent electricity and heat and buses then I’m smashed broke .I use my child benefit for food weekly €30 a week . Ireland is gone so much worse than U.K. . Rents are rising extra €100 a week now so that would been my food and electricity for the week before . Now electricity went from €20 a week , last year , now €50 a week and heat was €50 week to €100 a week so increase of €250 a week. It’s smashing us all . We get €34 week child benefit and €29 goes food and €5 for child bus ticket for the week . That’s €600 a week gone it’s gone insane now .

  3. We also never get free school meals in Irish primary schools here so if parent doesn’t provide food for school then you don’t eat at school .it’s shocking .I do go to a good bank so all give is rice pasta and cereal .tea . Coffee. It does help for other meals though !

  4. Sad things is too if you are parent there are tons of hair and nails schools and if need a hair cut then go there ! I do this as a parent and I have no shame so I can get my hair cut 1-2 times a year and it’s free so I can have that money for my own child’s haircuts.
