So, how didn't a door, a wall, or a window collapsed? A metric cube of water weights a ton, and even if the apartment (say, a 85 m2 one) was not filled up to the windows, but only had 10 cm of water, that would represent an additional 8.5 tons of dead weight pressing on the floor, although distributed. That would cause a floor to collapse. Sorry, but an apartment is not a pool, and I can't believe that.
Anyway, regardless of the pool, you could have mold due to water damage indeed, and you don't need much of it. Mold can also be created by having ten or more people inside a house, all sleeping in the same room, and all the windows closed. That is the sort of issues that immigrants cause.
