  1. Obsolescence is bad. It leads to wasted resources, having to ask forgiveness to them, more and bigger landfills. It is a stupid concept that leads to consumerism. For instance, a smartphone that is made to last two years is too wasteful and stupid.

  2. Most LED bulbs will last 2 years. Some not even that. I had one from Phillips just burning out after three months. Manufacturers overdrive the LEDs, making them significantly less efficient, and essentially toasting them. LED is a technology that could last a lifetime, but manufacturers often overdrive the LEDs and use cheap components.
