  1. The White House has no say on technical issues. They open the umbrella, saying "exterminate all C", "all C is unsafe". However, C can be made perfectly safe if good practices are followed. Also, what ensures that Rust is actually safe? For one, considering the kind of BS the Rust Foundation is pulling, I wouldn't consider Rust a valid replacement for C.
