I see a pattern: they attack projects that can be the core of other projects (programming languages, kernels, DEs) or that provide a way to people to be free or educate themselves (browsers, web platforms). The pattern is clear, and the purpose too. It is all about control.

Basically, the cult of Scientology of programming languages.

@neilpatrickhairless Well, at least he said the truth. And he never said he did earn it. But surely those DEI guys didn't earn it. At most, they took it.

@neilpatrickhairless Yes, people that are being robbed do get mad. Go figure why.

Yup. My take on it as well. The System76 guy was being reactive to a bad situation, instead of active in a bad situation. Completely different situation there.

Cancer would be a more appropriate term. And the carcinogen here is M$, DEI, and other activated toxic agents. Anyway, regarding the Wikipedia issue, they are constantly planting the "oh, no, if you don't donate, wikipedia could close tomorrow" trope, with that FUD level of urgency.

No, the truth is that left-leaning people do tend to think that the world is for them, and that's why they don't believe in private property, except if the property is already theirs, of course. Right leaning people are, at least, more conscious.

That classification of alpha, beta, gamma is so futile, that trying to fit it into any context is like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Unfortunately, some people try to explain every social event in the perspective of that ape sociology. The matter is evidently political, and ultimately, about elitist control. It is an "infiltrate the cabinets" thing.

@729usbow You don't. I do. Why, because I don't want to have a kill switch installed in the OS I use.
