  3. How quaint! They are setting "open source principles" that no one cares about. Until they enforce it, which is to be expected. Since the woke movement is failing, probably they want more drastic measures. Secure by design probably implies the mandatory use of Rust, I would say. Anyway, I'm happy that my software (i.e., the one I develop) is "free software", nor "open source". Is is free as in "freedom" (and as in "beer"). And it is written in C and C++.
