  1. Seagate HDDs are junk. I had a HDD failing with increased file corruption errors. I've refurbished it only to fail again.

  2.  @padraics  No, that was not the case. I had backups of all my files. I've sent my HD to the manufacturer for refurbishment/repair. The repaired drive failed after a couple of years of very light use, on a secondary machine.
