  2. Oh well. Metal doesn't work well in compression. Bridge designers have discovered this a century ago, when whey used iron crossbars in the other way around of wooden ones. The hyperloop is a failure. The fact that something needs to go in and go out is an impediment to maintain a vacuum. Not to mention the propensity for crushing.
