  1. Not just a capacitor. Either a capacitor in parallel and a resistor in series (1st order LPF), or a capacitor/inductor combo in the same "L" configuration (2nd order LPF). A lone capacitor is meaningless in the world of filters, onless the previous stage has a high output impedance (in other words, a fictional resistor in series).
