Wish I had a man like that advocating for my autistic daughter coming she's only 40 lb at 7 years old and it's still getting bullied at school despite the teachers knowing about it. I told her how to defend herself and she said she doesn't want to hurt anybody back because she wants to be friends. It's heartbreaking. Unfortunately her biological father kicked me in my jaw well I was pregnant, he used the excuse that our mutual friend died as a reason to go out and get drunk and act a fool. After years of his abuse I could not tolerate it so I kicked him out and the ER sent a sheriff out to make sure he was gone because it was a second time he had sent me to the emergency room during the pregnancy and the first time the cops didn't make him leave, in fact they made me go sleep out in my car. The ER nurse was pissed when she heard about it! That type of response from the cops was typical that's why I never even bothered calling them.

I am autistic and I also am a high functioning individual who not only has a background as a LMHP running a substance use disorder program at a major hospital here in Seattle, but I also have worked to mitigate the harmful effects of ABA in classroom environments when pressed upon autistic children, and it is a fact that autistic children with darker skin are discriminated against systemically in classrooms. They are not believed to be in as much pain as they are, and they are constantly punished more than their peers. And neurodivergency only complicates those things if it impacts their communication. These parents need to sue the daylights out of the district! ABA therapy which is often used in classroom settings in public schools is harmful to the children and uses these force techniques, especially this thing they call hand over hand. I have seen horrible things such as morbidly obese teachers slamming children down while huffing impatiently and forcing their little hands underneath their sweaty paws while gripping them tightly and instructing them how to write in cursive, color in the lines, or whatever hoop they're trying to get them to jump through. I got terminated because I spoke out against it.

Exactly and I am so sick of these lazy abusive teachers narcissistically blaming every issue they have with a child on the parents. It's like, shack it up and do your job, you chose to educate children. Educate them. Stop putting it all on parents. We are overworked and stressed out living with mental health issues are damn sales. I don't have time to sit and do a teacher's job for them when I'm sending my kids to public school to educate them. I have to work multiple jobs to keep a roof over my head and I'm currently facing homelessness after surviving a brutal attack and nearly love me dead and gave me a dramatic brain injury. I am so sick of these brain dead teachers on here with the audacity to try to blame parents because they can't teach children that don't learn in a copycat fashion. They need to get creative with their teaching measures if they're incapable of teaching every student because every student is not the same and they should know that. This isn't a copy cookie warehouse in Shenzhen

@LynetteA68 They are becoming more and more rare. I'm lucky that I have my two autistic children in a great school district. I wasn't even diagnosed with autism until about 6 years ago when I was damn near 40 years old and had lived a lifetime of hell. Back when I was in school if a child had any type of struggles with learning,. They were putting the same class as children that had severe intellectual disabilities. At least nowadays they have children trying to learn in a normal classroom environment along honor students And those who are in the middle of the road academically, So they don't feel so different and they can learn from their peers new techniques on how to understand issues and problems.

They always try to blame an autistic individual for being violent or full of anger knowing that they're the ones perpetuating it cuz they don't want to listen or communicate on the autistic individuals level! The fact that he's black even doubles it, of course they're not going to believe that he's in pain. 😡
