  2. My grandpa was in pine Hill boarding school in Miles City in Montana. He was half Blackfoot. The government took him from his mom who was a teenager at the time she gave birth to him and placed him in that boarding school. I have some telegrams from 1906 based out of Los Angeles where a train conductor is asking my grandpa's dad to pay for his wife and infant son to come up from Los Angeles to Montana, and then there's a correspondence in return where another conductor says that Clarence (My grandpa's father's name) wasn't going to be able to do that until he finished making enough money with this other woman that he's with. 🤯 I was like am I really reading this correctly. what the f*** happened. so I think what happened is when they came back up to Montana the state took my grandpa away from her since she was going to be a single mom or something. The details are pretty vague and he died a long time ago.
