The reason why they have these traits in the first place is because they don't know how to sit with feelings such as shame and guilt, they feel that that reflects on themselves as individuals and it's so deep that they don't even consciously see this. So they refused to take any accountability for anything. If it's something that could cause them shame or guilt, count on them blame-shifting immediately and gaslighting and they will throw massive Tantrums if faced with reality

  2.  @jackieguntzviller  it is definitely a practice and you will only become disciplined if you implement exercises to meet your goals. One thing that helps me out is remembering that the feelings and emotions I am experiencing or nothing but the result of biochemistry, rather neuroreceptors and their corresponding neurons! One exercise that helps me out tremendously as well, is when I get really angry, I visualize myself sitting on top of the edge of a cardboard box, and I'm looking down into it. All of the emotions and even a small figure of myself, I see running crazy inside of this box, and I'm just looking down watching it. The image I see of myself running around is just an illusion, And the emotions that are chasing that individual around are just illusions, rather, they're just biochemical responses that don't exist anywhere outside of my own mind. They cannot harm me. Only I can choose to harm myself through my actions and encounters with others

If your narcissist starts to pry you for your thumb screws, ie asks you about past traumas or makes attempts to find out things that exes have said or done to you that have hurt you tremendously, do not tell them the truth! Tell them a lie, and then watch them later attempts to use that lie against you as an emotional weapon. They get infuriated and it's pretty hilarious

The easiest way for people to untangle themself from these webs is to realize that their emotions are just a biochemical reaction and cannot physically cause them harm unless they refuse to discipline those emotions, because we all know that heartbreak can actually cause high blood pressure and stress can kill, not just kill but it can also cause brain damage. Prolonged episodes of trauma and stress can lead to cognitive decline at a younger age and it can Prime the mind, if you will, for conditions like dementia and Alzheimer's.

  8.  @hartmutott4720  look, in the beginning mine was trying to pry, and trust me I'm telling you I knew he was a sociopath for a couple years before I even engaged with him, he's a youngster out of my graffiti crew, I'm 43 and he's 31 now. I digress.... in the beginning when I let him feel like he was getting through the door emotionally with me ( he didn't know that the games he thought he was running were but mere Child's Play in my experience! He also didn't realize that I'm a therapist and worked as a licensed mental health practitioner running a substance use disorder program for a decade before I linked up with what was soon to be his drug addicted a$$!) Anyways, he was asking me about my past relationships because I alluded to my baby's dad destroying my apartment, which is completely true. He asked me something that stood out to me, and knowing the way that sociopath and narcissist work, I knew that he wasn't even cognizant of the reasons behind it. But he asked me what the worst thing that my daughter's dad ever said to me or did to me was, lol. Come on 48 Laws of Power! He didn't realize I read that back when I was 20 years old.... lol anyways. So I lied to him and I made up some bullshit. LOL I made up some real unique sounding insults. Cat Chase dog, or rather, dog chased cat, and after I declined him multiple times and he started to show his true Colours really wild as far as intimate relationship issues were concerned, he started to insult me. It was about 3 and 1/2 4 months and he started calling me the same bulshit made-up name that I told him my ex used to call me, the one that supposedly hurt me really bad! LOL he really thought he was doing the most to talk about what your ex is right look how fucked-up you are no wonder your ex was right when he said that about you just look at you, you're pathetic da da da da! LOL I was like you know you are a whole buffoon for real because first of all you don't even know my ex, second of all my ex never said that shit, third of all I told you that shit to catch you up, 4th of all get the fuck about my house you can go back to being a hobo sexual, I don't know what type of trip he thought he was taking out here from Philly but he really thought he was going to move in or something unique LOL he quickly learned that that is not the case

  10.  @Blessme13  it's even more difficult I think once we realized that they are narcissists and we begin to look at things pathologically while they basically are just blind acting off of emotions and denial of things like guilt and shame, meanwhile we are sitting here realizing this is the whole route of why they're behaving like this and they don't even realize that they're narcissistic
