+sausageman That's the problems here. I've been reading about this story and the most reasonable conclusion is that Dawkins is right. Electrical engineers have looked at the stuff in Ahmed's room and they say that it's all just parts taken out of commercial products. His "USB router" is just a store bought USB router with the cover taken off.

After all the school shootings, you can get suspended for bringing a toy gun to school. The kid isn't being persecuted. He isn't being charged and the family with the help of CAIR is suing the school. This appears to possibly be a hoax, in the spirit of Rachel Dolzhal sending hate mail to herself.

It is absolutely not unusual for a kid in high school to get in trouble and investigated for having a beeping brief case, which was making others suspicious. Will have to wait until the lawsuit plays out. The details of this case are so weird that it's likely a stunt that a family member got Ahmed to do, with the goal of a lawsuit.

+Code Slinger I think it's a primitive emotional reaction that PC progressives have. When I first heard this I too thought that this kid was a victim of profiling. But after researching the story I found that his behavior has been very weird. The school was 100% entitled to investigate a beeping briefcase with a digital display in it. And when Mark Cuban called Ahmed there was someone whispering the answers to Marks questions to Ahmed. There was some type of hoax going on. The kid's father is running for the presidency of Sudan, so he's not some powerless victim.

+Rob McCune "There is not fake bomb"? We all know it wasn't a real bomb. But it looks like it was made to look like a bomb, aka a fake bomb.The police aren't charging him with having a "hoax device" anyways. So all the indignation at the school and the police is uncalled for anyways.
