  3. They're speaking from ignorance. In some states this is done to save endangered species. Feral hogs are an invasive destructive population, that destroys native populations of wildlife, some endangered. 60% of the hogs have to be shot just to keep the population stable.

  4. They don't know that shooting the hogs is wildlife conservation. It's the same as trying to control the population of carp in the norther midwest. It's an invasive species. Even if the carcass is just left, it will be eaten by natural predators, bears, bobcats, and coyotes.

  5.  @TheScotsalan  There are predators who will eat the dead pigs. A family member lives on the edge of the woods and their cats were always disappearing. They found out it was coyotes eating them.

  6. Feral hogs are an invasive species. So there are no rules or restrictions on hunting them. They're competing with the native wildlife. We have similar problems with carp. It was introduced to control algae, but now it's competing with native fish, so there are programs to try to reduce or eliminate them.
