Even the Democrats were making fun of this case last year. They're only unified behind this because this was the only case they could get to proceed before the election. It will help Trump politically, but they can't help themselves.

It's still not a crime if they prove the Trump ordered the hush money payment. The "crime" he is accused of is falsifying business records to cover up the "crime" of the hush money payment. But hush money payments aren''t illegal, so he is (implicitly, because the indictment is not clear) accused of covering up a campaign finance crime. But the prosecution's problem is that the FEC looked at this and concluded in 2018 that it wasn't a campaign expense.

@RighteousJ That's how this case helps Trump. He can tell voters that the opposition has weaponized the justice system against him, and he is is completely accurate. The judge's family has raised 91 million for Democrat campaigns with this case.

@imarriedabrkfsttaco3737 That's the deal. This case would have never gone to trial if we were living in normal times. The people in charge, judge, DA, are using the court for politics. This isn't a real legal case.

@dangelini1137 They had to shop for a prosecutor and judge. Most judges would dismiss this, along with the crooked "business fraud" case where they intend to seize Trump's properties because he "overvalued" by distinguishing between tax and value assessments like he should.

This case is so weak, that we don't even know any of the "facts". Both Trump and Daniels have denied having an affair. There's no verbal or written record of Trump's involvement in the payment. All they have are a couple attorney retainer checks Trump paid Cohen. Their witness is a convicted liar and perjurer. This isn't law, but politics.

The judge's family used the case to raise 91 million for the Schumer and Schiff campaigns. This is politics masquerading as a trial.

@dolphfren All of the violations of ethical norms, just means it will be easier to have a conviction thrown out. These cases are selective. Most prosecutors wouldn't bring this case. Many have already rejected it. So the Soros DA Bragg then found a judge with TDS who will stack the court against Trump. But that means it will be accepted for appeal. And will be a more serious judge.

@genuineappeal3458 This is a case on events that occurred before the 2016 election, and was ruled by the FEC to not be violation in 2018. The statute of limitations has expired. The judge wont delay because he wants this to interfere in the election this year.

The secret service would have to take over the whole section of the jail. The secret service has to vet everyone who comes near him. And the state authorities cannot order the SS to do or not do anything, because the feds have supremacy.

It will be nullified in appellate courts. The case is based on non-sense. Bragg has no jurisdiction on a federal campaign issue that the FEC ruled wasn't a crime.
