  2. Attempting to jail Trump would be a disaster, both logistically and politically (optics), for the DOJ or DA's. The Secret Service would literally take over a section of the jail, causing a huge fiasco for the jail, judge, and DA. The Secret Service only allows people who have been screened to be near Trump.
