  1. Alfred Nobel invented dynamite, not TNT. I suppose it did advance peace, sort of. Nitro Glycerin used to been so dangerous that it would blow people up accidentally frequently. Dynamite is just a stable form of nitro where it's soaked in clay and sawdust.
