  1. Jimi Hendrix did his Star Spangled Banner in front of a bunch of stoner flag burners. Everyone was pissed about the Vietnam war. So Hendrix was emulating war sounds. But I don't consider the song disrespectful. It was too awesome. In his live recordings sometimes he talks and you realize he's out of his mind on acid, but he was so talented it didn't negatively effect his playing. What's weirder is that many leftists think doing this in Waco is a "dog whistle" to anti-government radicals. Because they think the Branch Davidian standoff was what characterizes Waco.
