  2. A coup requires support on the inside. There are military coups, where the military rolls up with tanks and takes control, there are coups where a faction of the party in control takes over. All the riot did was postpone a senate vote.

  3.  @moekings1050  If the Senate did what the crowd wanted, didn't certify the election. Then it wouldn't have been an insurrection, but politics. There were representatives who didn't vote to certify the 2016 election. There was no attempted insurrection.

  4. In Portland the Democrats (basically the city government) supported a 6 month long "insurrection" at the federal courthouse. It caused millions in damages, and made it a living hell for everyone working in the building. The rioters tried to set it on fire repeatedly. So it's just too much hearing this moral posturing from Democrats.
