I saw life expectancy by ethnicity statistics, and for native Americans it was only in the 50s, despite the fact that they have universal healthcare. It must be the rampant alcohol and drugs on the reservations.

@nickstarlingch It's actually not "universal healthcare" because you have to be a member of a reservation to get it. The value of health insurance depends on what it pays for. One doesn't have to take medicare when they're 65 but most people do because its premiums are cheaper.

@jimmydean8589 A Lakota once told me that they had many meth lab busts on his reservation. Then he showed me that a bunch of his teeth had fallen out. He needed a better hobby than meth.

@nickstarlingch How does that work? I don't get free government health insurance and I'm living longer. Everybody over 65 can get "Medicare", but if you don't want it, you don't have to take it.
