I just saw videos of Zelensky giving speeches in Ukraine, and he's wearing a normal suit and tie. So dressing like a commando is some deliberate thing he does when soliciting. But it's pretty stupid, as the USA has a strong tradition of civilian leadership of the military. So wearing the paramilitary like he's Saddam Hussein, or Stalin is a bad look.
