  2. China is basically like pre-New Deal USA. They have low taxes, and no medicare, medicaid or social security. They also lack the basic safety nets that Americans have, such as the ability to go to an emergency room or hospital when you have no insurance or money. At a Chinese hospital you have to pay before you get treated.

  3.  misa smith  How is the regime controlling the markets? My point is that the USA is more socialist. You pay substantially higher taxes in the USA with guaranteed benefits. To get health insurance in China you have to either buy it on the market when you're still healthy or get something through your employer.

  5.  @renaissancenovice7202  About the only communism I found there, is the land use policies. All the land technically belongs to the government, and government officials control who has the right to use it. But they don't have the social welfare benefits that naive Bernie Sanders voters associate with communism.
