  1. "The electorate is going to perceive this as an attempt to overturn an election." That's exactly what this is. The hearings were mid level bureaucrats complaining that Trump was trying to overturn "official" US foreign policy. But that's the president's prerogative. The bureaucrats are not elected to make policy. Trump removed ambassador Yavanovich because she was undermining, current US policy, in favor of past policy. She had a "do not investigate" list that Ukraine was supposed to follow.

  2. This is just the Democrats in the House screaming at the sky, like that androgynous person at the inauguration. I don't know why they're so pathetic. Too many dumb people in their base? McConnell (The Turtle) doesn't sound smart, but he has political acumen, and can do things that are effective--He used precedent, created by Biden and Reid, to deny Obama a Supreme Court appointment. He will probably also think of a way of coming out on top on this too. The Democrats are currently "demanding" a "fair trial" in the Senate, which is funny: 1) "fair trial" mean fair for the accused, not the prosecutor. 2) They have no leverage, i.e. they can't demand anything.
