  3. Afraid of what? He's the target of accusations, none of which meet any standard of probable cause, let alone any civil or criminal court standard. Just think about it. The most "credible" accuser has none of her named witnesses corroborating it, doesn't know for sure what year it was, doesn't know the address, doesn't know how she got there, how she got home. And her story has changed. She first told her therapist it was in the late 80s. Later she changed it to around 82. One version has her hearing her attackers when in the bathroom, another she said she didn't hear them. This is really embarrassing. But the Democrats are willing to do anything.

  4. Do people really take John Oliver seriously, I know they're obviously jokes, but the political messages are moronic. Trump obviously wasn't saying "Look what I did, and I still won." He was remarking that he had to overcome, not just a primary, but also ruthless lawfare, both civil and criminal, and two assassination attempts. He had to overcome a political machine who's candidate had nearly 3x the money. And he won decisively, electoral college, popular vote, the senate and the house. Kamala Harris didn't even have to win a primary. She got 1.005 billion in donations. Trump shouldn't even be alive, after being grazed by a bullet. After defeating a political machine that tried to imprison and bankrupt him. And he won every battleground state.

It's a background investigation, meaning they can ask questions, interview people, but they have no subpoena power. The FBI is just going to contact all the witnesses named by Ford and they're just going to repeat their sworn statements to the Senate. Changing their statement would lead to a charge of lying to the FBI.

  7. This is just politics. But this is way too sleazy. In no court or hearing in the U.S. is the burden on the defendant to prove their innocence. In civil court the plaintiff has to provide evidence before the defendant has to defend himself. This would never make it past the first step, because there are just too many holes, with none of the witnesses corroborating.

Let's not pretend that this is an honest attempt to determine if he's qualified. He has the highest rating by the ABA. But Democrats are asking him about fart jokes he wrote in his HS year book.

In the 90s there were really bad therapists who thought they were uncovering repressed memories. In reality, they were tricking their patients into believing that these horrible incidents happened to them, which never occurred. We had hundreds of people claiming that their parents, or their teachers, tortured them in a dungeon. Really crazy stuff. And people went to prison on these false abuse stories. There was even a moral panic about "ritual satanic abuse". But there is no such thing. A "satanist" is no more criminal than a wiccan, a pagan, or whatever "alternative" religion.

The professional sex crimes prosecutor, who asked questions for the Senate committee, wrote a statement, published in the Wa Post, that Christine Fords accusations don't meet any legal standard of credibility. She wouldn't investigate that case based on her story, with no corroborating witnesses. People are using "credible" to mean "she sounded sincere". But that's not what it means. A credible witness, is someone who can answer details, is consistent, and is backed up by other testimony. Her story does not.

Ford has emotional problems, but this other psycho might be prosecuted for perjury. This is what the Democrats are doing. When you throw out all standards for evaluating evidence, testimony and cross examination, you can smear anyone. One witness said that Kavanaugh would drink to blacking out (that's obviously not a crime, but it was meant to impeach his character). But when asked the "witness" said he never saw him black out. Judge Judy would just be tearing these people a new one for this shit.

Not even all black people identify with it, because most aren't Marxist, and not everyone identifies with race identity politics, just as not every white person is a white nationalist.
