  1. Dude. Where do you think the insurance co. gets the money to pay for the services? Also, the private plan I have (in the NW USA) has a MINIMUM yearly out of pocket expense. A government system, such as Canada, NZ, UK, will have a maximum that the system will pay. You don't understand which countries are actively denying services.

  2.  @beneaththemarquee  They have a NICE agency that throttles coverage. Meaning you don't get the treatment. That's the main reason why the US has a higher cancer survival rate.

If you have insurance in the US that doesn't cover some service, you'll get a bill. If the Canadian healthcare system decides not to cover a treatment, you wont get it. (It's only the latter that will kill you.) You're only option is to travel.

  4. I mean this sincerely. Are you stupid??? I have a private health insurance plan in the Portland area. It's a basic plan, and has a minimum yearly out of pocket expense of 8k. I can't be killed by the company. At most I pay 8k out of pocket. If I have a treatment that costs 10 million, it's 8k out of pocket.
