  1. This is what the pardon power was meant for. The Founders knew there would be political prosecutions. And they happen all the time in DC. The pardon power provides a safety valve on that. What they weren't meant for are the preemptive pardons that Biden gave, to protect his family and inner political circle from legal accountability.
