@BalrogUdun I've never seen a speech Reagan gave with full blown dementia. That RNC speech was normal. After he was diagnosed with Alzheimers he retired from public life.

They applauded when he mentioned "trickle down"--the leftwing notion that wealth is a zero sum game, so the only way to get it is from the wealthy. In a healthy economy the wealthy provide jobs. Getting a good salary isn't "trickle down" like welfare.

@Conservitarian 17 There's no such economic theory or policy known as "trickle down". The term is a derogatory term for free market capitalism. In a good economy, when someone gets a good job or starts a business, and they become wealthier, it's not trickle down.

Inflation doesn't hurt the wealthy. Invested wealth isn't affected; its numerical value goes up with inflation. It hurts the working and middle classes who see their grocery and gas bills go up.
