It struck me as a book that very few would have the patience to read. I got about 40 pages and he's just rambling about bureaucrats in West-phalia, and Rheinland, that nobody remembers. He wasn't a particularly good writer.

"The American president stood aloof." Metaphorically only.

Makes you wonder where some of their ideas came from. Most Germans have light brown hair, and aren't particularly tall. They thought the ideal German looked like a Norwegian.
4
Most people didn't read it because it's long, verbose, boring and turgid. It doesn't even have the excitement of the writings of a madman. It's mostly just long and boring.

@neilarmstrongsson795 Their space suits were not fragile. It had many layers. If it did spring a leak, it would be the coolant layer. And even if there were an air leak, they could get back to the LM easily.

Trump was less authoritarian than the Democrats. They won by censoring embarrassing Biden stories off of social media.
2
Rudolph Hess and Frida Kahlo, the two greatest unibrows in world history.

Fascist parties always have socialist elements. Mussolini was a former communist. Fascists think the state is supreme, a belief shared by far left parties.
2
@mischief.brewed The SA was full of former communists. Ernst Roem even complained that some of his units were all communists. The political philosophies are very close. Basically, the state runs everything. Anarchists aren't relevant. Antifa claims to be anarchist, but they're just communists. They're rioting in favor of vaccine and mask mandates in the US. That's pro-state, not anti.

In 1980 when Mt. St. Helens erupted there was this grey "ash" everywhere. It was fine and rather nasty, it got in things and would irritate your skin. It was finer than ordinary sand, and must be very similar to the moon soil.
2
It's interesting that the latest recession was completely due to government authority. Then they send out $1400 checks, when people lost their jobs and businesses.
2
@shieldsluck1969 What you're seeing is the sun/radiation outer shield. Apollo space helmets were a bubble of some polymer. The mirrored face shield is because the sun is very bright where there is no atmosphere.

Spending 3 days on the surface of the moon is impressive. Especially considering that it's 3 days from Earth. I made 9 day hiking trips into the wilderness. But I didn't need to bring my own air, and it was just 15km not 1 million km.
1
@SpaceTime773 Round trip its 760000 km, plus they orbit both the Earth and the Moon several times. So the distance each astronaut travels is over 1 million km.

Syd McCreath It doesn't give you the impression that this guy is going to cause a world war or genocide. Because every political manifesto has talk of "fighting their enemies", "victory of the movement", etc. Even Democrats in the US use this extremist talk. Biden did a speech where he basically said opposition voters are a terrorist threat.
1
Syd McCreath I think it was a book that everyone had on their bookshelf, signaling that they're loyal to the regime.
1
@mischief.brewed I couldn't care less about engaging some smooth brained breadtuber.
1
@mischief.brewed What would be the point of trade in a totalitarian dictatorship? Fascists are basically reformed communists, eg Mussolini. There's no need to socialize the institutions directly, because they socialize the people.
1
@ryanwagner656 Antifa had riots last year in California For mask and vaccine mandates. My point is that they're communists, want collective authority.

Such a stupid decision, to invade Russia.
1
Stalin's body used to be next to Lenin. But later they decided he was to brutal so they moved it to a grave outside, that you see at 1:45.
1
@xxcodyv2 That's a scary thought. Makes you wonder what happened to the Democrats, when they just want a body to occupy the highest office. When asked about the Maui fire that kill 100 and left thousands homeless, he smirked and said "No comment". Some real leadership there.
