  1. I heard there were only about 800 Boss 429s produced. So it never really was a production car, and the Boss 429 wasn't really a production car engine. I had a Ford Motorsport catalogue from 1988 and all the engines, heads, etc. were Boss 429.

  2. When I was a teen, in 1980s, I had a 69 Mustang with just a small block. So I bought a Ford Motorsports catalogue when I was rebuilding the engine. And most of the racing parts and engines were Boss 429. So it did have a run, just not in production cars.
