  3.  @Hobbes746  I think in space, and on the moon, they just need to block out the sunlight and let their eyes adjust, as there is no air to scatter light. When they're in deep space, an the way to the Moon and back they're always in the sun. But as long as their telescope is not pointed at the sun, and lens is shielded, they can see the stars.
