That censorship tends to eventually backfire. I was taught in school that Nixon was a bad corrupt president who authorized a burglary on his political opponents. But the burglars were all FBI, Nixon only defended suspects out of loyalty. And it was really a set up to remove him, because he was going to cut back on government bureaucracies.
